CHRISTINA'S WRITER’S WORKSHOP REFLECTION
I really liked the idea of implementing this “Workshop Approach” to teaching. I think that it is a great idea to have these workshop periods daily; I believe that this type of teaching could really have a positive impact on the students in our future classrooms, because they are actually “creating” piece’s of works daily, instead of just “practicing” them. I also believe that the “share session” period of this type of teaching can absolutely, positively impact these children.
I’ve always been attracted to the more team-type classrooms, which is why I think I’m very attracted to this type of teaching, and its “share sessions”. In these share sessions, our student’s will have the time to positively interact with the other student’s in the class. This could foster a more family-type class, within which we all would eventually become a lot closer as a unit than we could ever be, if this type of teaching was not implemented. I think that the whole idea of these writer workshops is brilliant!m - F2006
